Plan for Educationally Gifted Students (PEGS)
The Gifted and Talented program at Dumas ISD consists of a pullout classroom for grades K-6 and pre-AP and AP classes for Jr. High and High school.

Testing Procedures
Open testing for the PEGS program is administered in the fall of each school year for those students who are new to Dumas ISD and again in the spring for all others wishing to test. Kindergartners are tested in February of each year. The district uses 5 criteria for K-2 and 7 criteria for 3-6 grades. To qualify for the program, a student must have at least two scores in the 95% and one score in the 90%. Before any student may test we must have parent permision to test.
